About Brim, the daily pouring puzzle
Brim is a free daily pouring puzzle. You get six pours. In each one a full glass, mug, can or bottle is tipped into an empty vessel of a different shape, and you drag a line to where the drink will reach. Pull the line above the rim if you think it will overflow. Then the pour plays out for real: you score 100 points minus 4 for every percent of height you were off, so a perfect day is 600.
Nothing is faked. Every vessel is modelled from typical catalogue sizes as a solid of revolution, its volume is worked out exactly, and the liquid is conserved from the first drop to the last. Everybody gets the same six pours on the same day, so you can compare results without spoilers.
One tip: compare volumes, not heights. A tall thin glass is much deeper than it looks and a wide bowl is much shallower, and the shape of the vessel is what fools you. That is the fun of it.
Brim is made by a small two-person team. It is free to play, needs no account and sits next to Pondlight and Paint Roller, two more puzzles that arrive every day at the same time.
Brim FAQ
Is Brim free?
Yes. Brim is free to play, there is nothing to buy and you do not need to sign up.
When does the puzzle reset?
Six new pours arrive at your local midnight, so the day changes at a different moment for people in different time zones. Puzzle numbers count days since 1 January 2026.
How is my score worked out?
Each pour is worth up to 100 points: you lose 4 points for every percent of the target vessel’s height between your line and the real level. Calling an overflow correctly is worth the full 100. Six pours make 600, and you earn three stars from 480 points and two from 360.
Are the pours realistic?
Yes. Mugs, glasses, cans, bowls and bottles use typical catalogue dimensions, rounded and not copied from any one product. Each one is a shape of revolution with an exact volume, so the level you see is what the maths says, including when the drink overflows.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts. Your streak, stats and settings are saved in your own browser, so they stay on the device you play on.
